Never thought passion, even passion of poetry
would one day becomes idolatry
when my heart began to indulge in the satisfaction of its savour
when I kneel before my bed and began to poetry instead of prayer
verses filed with derogatory lines
not glorifying the savior of mind
when I de-robe my soul of white linen
to travel a lawless land
with no true foundation, ground nor identity
divine, diverse, shedding light through obscurity
or cruise a shore-less sea
of countless invigorating, yet ever changing theories
a universe floating on conceptions never perceived
even the unheard is "revealed"
drawing the invisible with ink of words and emotion on stanzas
painted on colorless phrases, paragraphs, and verses made canvas
defying the message "prepare for the kingdom is at hand"
aside salvation of the cross all will end, even our words wont stand
to turn aside the Christian faith Jesus is the answer to all questions
cause in poetry its not an answer we seek nor a resolution
but to see a picture where Good and Evil comes to life as free men
even if painted of blood sacrificed to demons
to draw a picture pleasant to behold, even in the sight of the blind
one that captivates even an etheis mind
it is then I've sined
and fall short of glory
I closed my mind and didn't envision Calvary
thats when poetry became idolatry

i think that its unbelievably sad that you might equate poetry with something as meaningless as "idolatry". poetry is a beautiful window into the very essence of your being. how closed minded would a god be if he detested someone pouring out there feelings in print, rather than spending every waking moment giving him praise. i truly weep for this, as it seems your religious beliefs are making something as beautiful as poetry into something as worthless and ugly as "idolatry".
