Behind those warm mocha eyes and rosy cheeks
Lies a story of arctic chill,
So wintry, so bitter
You can feel the polar ice breaking through her skin
Tears freeze when they fall gracefully from her eyes;
Lie upon lie
A beautiful morning’s mist held like clouds above the lake;
Unfolding mistake after mistake
She wants to feel again, feel her love’s embrace
Reality sets in behind these bars; there is no escape.
