I've heard the term
Cute as a button
But I didn't know
What it really meant
Be it silver or gold
Or a nicely craved stone
The words popped in my mind
When you walked in the Door
Your as cute as a button
A beautiful women
I just hope I get to Know you
A little bit better
Author notes
A fun Ditty
Please tell me what you think

Colloquialisms! Fun... I wonder about origins, and can only guess that some seamstress or tailor came up with this one, maybe soem woman who strung pretty buttons for her baby to play with. My mom used to paint empty spools and string them for my kids.

This is truly a sweet poem. The term "cute as a button" is one I have come across from time to time. I always think of all the rare qualities that make someone stand out just that little more than usual.
The line "or a nicely carved stone" bought to my mind a stone I found on the beach around five years ago, it was a perfect heart-shaped stone, how often would one come across something like that? I still have it. Your poem reminded me of that.
It is good to visit your page again, keep your pen flowing
