Gently furled the cotton drapes;
Whispered tales from lips escapes.
Of few that sought the silver's call
And those that braved the angel's fall.
Bowing heads about her bed--
Knowing now she lay but dead.
The final child of prophets told
A whispered angel of heart so bold.
Hair as fine as winter's breath,
Lips left pale in quiet death.
Go, sweet children, of angel's fall,
Seek the words that darkens all.
Tarry not in peaceful town,
Let the hunt your sorrows drown.
And from her slumber she will rise
To bless the children from the skies.
Cast upon her precious light,
Turned silver with the coming night.
Blessed are the few--remain--
Those who took the angel's pain.
And so the fallen angel rests,
Her sacred duty of life's requests.
Giving all she held, great peace,
Unto the children so bequeaths.
With the turning of the tides,
Her greatest gift, in them resides.
From her place within the moon,
She grants the children, each a boon.
With coming day, to birds of prey,
And those of night, the canine's way.
All to drive her children on
To heal the lands of ancient wrong.
Faithful are the few so blessed
All to look for angel's best.
Purest are the ones so hewn;
Ever after, Sweet Mistress Moon.

Basically, the "angel" here is the one that grants them power. Who? The people she's been protecting for her entire life. As well as her ancestors. This power is basically the manifestation of her power put into those that followed her faithfully. Well, actually, she grants half of them the power of flight in the day and the other half the power of the wolf at night. This is because the "angel" knows she's dieing and she wants to give her people the power to protect themselves. A little off kilter of what I normally do, but...eh *shrug*... I'm sure you'll have something to say about it.

Besides the whole werewolf thing, I have to say this really does sound like Ali. I wonder if she mellows out a bit after she has children...hmm....So...is this when she dies while with Kira, or when she dies in the original story, where Kira is with Drez?
