My Holy Grail

Throughout the ages man has sought
To find the Holy Grail
From Templar Knights to present time
But all to no avail
This cup that hold’s the promise of
Our Lord almighty’s grace
That brings with it the hope that we
Can save the human race

I took no part within this quest
So hence my great surprise
That I should find the Holy Grail
When looking in your eyes
In them I saw the meaning of
What life was meant to be
And how they saved this worthless wretch
That once in time was me

In you I find the gift from God
A love that he ordained
When all about just disappeared
And only you remained
For in the chalice of your heart
I know that I have found
The answer to my every prayer
In love to which I’m bound

I do not know of Gods great plan
Or if the Grail is real
But this I know that I now have
This feeling that I feel
An overwhelming sense of love
The like unknown before
That came from him the day that he
First led me to your door

Perhaps that is the answer
To this everlasting quest
That each of us must find the grail
That brings to them the best
And only when each quest is done
When each has found his mate
That we will find the peace we seek
And know that God is great
