Honestly, Food.

We had such a great time
I was laughing and joking again
Finally enjoying myself.

Then you had to go and get all deep on me.
Asked me what I was thinking,
Honestly, food.

You had this look in your eyes,
The beginning of forever you told me.
I guess pity is a disease.

Because I took pity on you.
Maybe I just lead you on.
But you were hooked,
And I liked playing the lead.

Maybe I’m evil.
Or maybe I’m just cynical.
Love is a rarity that barely exists.

So why get attached.
Why hold on to something
That will disappear and fade with time anyway?

Yes I have scars on my knuckles
And scars on my heart,
Maybe bitterness is just setting in.

I believe you’ve never been hurt.
And you think this of me.
I’m just guarded. You are an open book.

Secrets are good.
Mystery is fun.
But I’m bored with you.

I’m bored with love.
Give me lust,
At least that’s exciting.

Oh, please don’t tell me you love me.
It’s sick and cruel
And I’d hate to hurt you.

I don’t know how to love?
Believe what you may.
You weren’t my first, last or even current.
I have another date at nine.

See sweetie the thing is,
I know how to love,
I just don’t love you.

Wow you certainly did a good job with this quote, this is wonderful. Some of the lines really stood out for me; "I guess pity is a disease." && "Love is a rarity that barely exists."
I really liked your use of language, it was unusual in a way and thus unique .
