mist

there is this woman
that breathes
with bluebonnets
& the red
painted like faces
of canyons

i bring her
into my lungs
& she feathers my soul
that flash of lightning
on a still night

she washes the mystic
in streams of thought
& the pebble in the sky
casts shadows
of hands
in earth

i rise
with the dust
of my sister
& the poppies of july
when the snow
is silent

atop the mountain
i hear
the great tongues
& my eyes bend
with indian paintbrushes
in the valley
with her
spiritous mist

    Wow.

Be still my southern beatin' heart. Damn. Now THIS is poetry. I'm suddenly very very very very jealous...lol.

    This was shiny.

    A delight to read,

    Timeless

This is a classic psalm so rich with images of nature and geography, I cannot think of a more honorable tribute. Bravo.

You knew I'd love this one, Muddy. So will Carol. Please IM her with permission to post it on her official website; she wants 'em all & I don't blame her a bit. This is a beautiful portrait of TWO lovely souls; both hers & yours, dear Scribe. Thank you for entering, Richard. Good luck in the contest, my Friend. Wanderer
