brave bird, beautiful lake
on which mallards and lillipads float,
luring visitors, with gifts of brown bread, soft to touch;
dost shine a good deed everyday.
splish, splash, splosh and splutter
up and down bobs a knowing head.
put their by god, as peace, for pitiful man.
evil having no place in this, this glorious, majestic swim.
remember the serenity for eternity
damp like a secret war-time hero.
usual occurence to the naked eye.
crested grebes are a platoon of wayward sailors,
kings of the lake you'll observe
with ripples that govern with patient strength,
old birds nestle from the whooping wind.
watch and smell the rain gently lift the morning dew.

Beautiful poem!
A lovely tribute to the natural world--devoid of the nastiness we humans put into it! Evocative imagery throughout, great use of sensory detail, too.

You should frame that third stanza ... it oozes with imagery (an imagery-oozer!!). Very nicely penned ... all we need now is some bread to chuck at the ducks, eh?!
