For those who despair of life
It seems there is nothing here
And those who despair of love
Will never hold anything dear.
Those who despair of humanity
'Can you say you're conscience is clear?'
As forever despairing of happiness
Means sadness shall always be near.
Desperation takes over the soul,
The pain of it ever more severe.
It can lead us to desperate acts
As sanity and sense disappear.
When the mind sees naught but desperation
At every speed bump temptation appears
And giving in to the feeling of hopelessness
Makes oblivion your final frontier.
For I have felt deep down inside
The light of hope disappear
And that desperation is synonymous with temptation
Is something I know too clear.
So tempt not the desperate beings
Lest you prepare for a conclusion austere.
Author notes
"Tempt not a desperate man." (from Romeo and Juliet - am I right??)

this is so magnificent
so well written so great imagery and flow of thought the building of one desperate moment and one dispare after another. wow such a life of sadness.
tempt not the desperate for there are temptations for you as well
the world is a cruel place this does not mean we have to be.
kindness, love, compassion, acceptance, comfort, and joy
offerings of these shall always give hope not dissapoiintment.
i loved this write thank you so very very much.

Yeah this is a very sad quote in some ways as you can hear the undertone of desparation within the words themselves. I do believe it was from Romeo and Juliet, if I can remember it was the words of Romeo after killing Tybalt? When he'd been told he was exhiled and was going to kill himself? I think so. Anyway great interpetation.
