Underneath these singing woods…
Sought through the years,
Brought on by tears,
That only you could give,
And take away.
One sanctuary,
One reason to sit here alone.
On my own…
I’ve come to realize that I can die.
Indeed, prosperity has left us to wander into the doom that waits at the end of the winding road.
Oh, come onto this,
Hurt with me forever more.
And know…
That I am a prisoner of Memory.
You withdraw your hand from mine,
Stained with sweat and tears and your bitter copper wine.
If heart and soul could resurrect what was once sacred and sublime,
Then perhaps I wouldn't have to watch you sink into the ground for all time.
I want to look up at the sky,
And know you are smiling down at me…
I want to stare at your name cast in stone,
And feel you resonate within me...
Indeed, this temperament of yours is what shapes my path into the dimming sun.
Oh, come walk with me.
Recite these vows of Nostalgia.
The pain may stagger me, but the loneliness is what kills me.
I am a prisoner of Memory.
