Proverbs 16:3

Commit thy works unto the LORD
His words are not to be ignored
So thy woes shall be abolished
and thy thoughts shall be established

‘Tis the Lord who sets bondsmen free
by reading His word; His decree
Love that heals a soul that anguished
and thy thoughts shall be established

So heed the words of God above
and sacrifice your pain for love
‘Tis your soul that He has cherished
and thy thoughts shall be established

Commit thy works unto the LORD
and thy thoughts shall be established

Author notes

(KJV) Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established

Kyrielle Sonnet
A Kyrielle Sonnet consists of 14 lines (three rhyming quatrain stanzas and a non-rhyming couplet). Just like the traditional Kyrielle poem, the Kyrielle Sonnet also has a repeating line or phrase as a refrain (usually appearing as the last line of each stanza). Each line within the Kyrielle Sonnet consists of only eight syllables. French poetry forms have a tendency to link back to the beginning of the poem, so common practice is to use the first and last line of the first quatrain as the ending couplet. This would also re-enforce the refrain within the poem. Therefore, a good rhyming scheme
for a Kyrielle Sonnet would be:
AabB, ccbB, ddbB, AB -or- AbaB, cbcB, dbdB, AB.

Such a beautiful work of verse and with such a deeply moving message. That is what we need to do, all of us. Sacrifice our pain for love. It makes me want to be a little more caring and attend to others needs over my own selfish ambitions. I think I need to tape this one to my refrigerator door so I'll see it everyday, first thing, when I am getting my coffee. It would be much more eye opening.

very powerful write indeed. included is the wisdom of many ages...sort that never fades with time. a truth one might even call imortal. establishment bein the result of work and labour blessed of jah. of course this refers to all mannner of work or labour...perhaps the birth of a child and its reering. the foundation established by such wisdom supports any great structure that reaches beyond the tree tops. which suggests a sort of royal kinship with Jah Himself as thought is established by divine precepts. such thinking is always the swiftest and most potent leading to pure love referred to in the 3rd stanza. thanks for sharing this. most excellent.

Amera, I can see you on a pulpit, in a tent in the Kansas countryside, preaching your heart out, and not a bad thing to be doing either.

All your dad does anymore is steal hubcaps.

Yes you have written a lovely sonnet here - liked the rhythm, thyme, flow and how you have taken this proverb and made it your own.
