Lean?

I would try to tell you what you can't understand
I would try to tell you what you can't understand
I would scribble a thousand words in the sand
I would trace a thousand words in your hand
But what's the point in writing them
If you cannot understand?

Three hearts alone in a watching room
Three hearts alone in a watching room
Two hearts beat on, and they feel at home
One heart beats on and it feels alone
No heart wants cold when the evening comes
Two hearts have warmth, one heart has none
Affection come, affection come, oh friend, dear friend
all hearts need some.

Here, here is a boy who scales the deep
Near, near is a boy who scales the deep
Who scales the unbearable, terrible deep
Who needs to know there's a loyalty
When his mask can't hold, when ficcades can't keep
the pain at a distant peak.

I won't write a poem to tell you you're wrong
I won't write a poem to tell you you're wrong
The fault is my own, the wail is my song
But suppose that you look past the right and the wrong -
oh friend, utter now without words, without tongue
a language. All hearts cry for some.

Author notes

Midnight rambling; no critiques. This all came pouring out at once.

"Affection is responsible for nine-tenths of whatever solid and durable happiness there is in our lives..."
- C.S. Lewis

midnight rambelings- only YOU could ramble like this, and call it ramblings- geeze if I could ramble like this I could make a fortune. You never fail to leave me speechless- so I don't know how to tell you what is brilliant about this- except that you realch into the readers heart and pull at it like no other poet can. Very tenderly and creatively written.

I haven't visited this site in so long. I forgot how much I enjoy your poetry. You have such a grip on the human disposition as I call it. Something within me always responds to your poetry, the way one responds to the truth; easy to recognize and important to know.
