Slowly drained of energy
Hearts begin to fade
Depart this life of sorrow
Before it’s too late
Hate consumes the lost spirit
Of a mother pained
Agony is the long path
To save the spirit
And with these words I tell you
A story of long ago
A mother with no future
No path in which to go…
The soul departs this life slowly
detaching each
hope like petals
To a wilting rose
Until one day the rose is bare
And no longer holds beauty
