This love that is inside of me grows stronger day by day,
It warms me from within and keeps the loneliness at bay.
No longer am I all alone, no longer I despair
For now I have just what I want; somebody who cares.
He tells me that I'm beautiful and I see it in his eyes,
He knows the places I have been and with me can sympathize
He's patient with me sometimes I think more than I deserve,
And knows the things I want to say, but cannot find the nerve.
And when I start from fearful dreams and waken late at night,
He comforts me and holds me, his arms around me tight.
I know he will protect me if ever I cannot,
and though he worries far too much, what matters is the thought.
I never thought that I would find someone who loves me so,
Who always has my back, no matter where I go.
I have somebody by my side, to make misery depart,
He saved me from my solitude; he soothes my aching heart.

This was just beautiful an heartfelt. I can totally appreciate how you feel. I have been divorced for four year now and have had one semi-date. I get so lonely sometimes I think I could just scream but I keep it inside the silent scream...I am happy you have found this love and wish the best for you. Like the sentiments in these lines; the rhythm and rhyme and the flow that is in the verses. Sentiments well expressed; not sure about has my back - about guards my back maybe? Easy to read and understand how happy you are with this special friend.

This is beautiful. I think he would love to read it and know how you feel. Sometimes it is the only way they know for sure. Whenever I have trouble telling my hubby something I can write better than I can express myself verbally. He always loves it when I write a poem for him. This shows so much love and caring in a tender and gentle manner. A wonderful piece of writing.
