Hold Us Close Lord

Dear Heavenly Father as I kneel and pray
I thank you most dearly for another day
I thank you and praise you for all your blessing true
Praise your Holy name for your healing power too

Above all of the blessings you have given to me
I praise you and thank you for Jesus Christ so free
Thank you Lord for bringing Barb through her surgery
For holding her in Your Arms so very tenderly

You were there in surgery to guide the Doctor's hands
The Anesthetist and nurses, obeyed your every command
Removing the jaw bone and making a new jaw bone too
Replacing all the muscles and nerves commanded all by you

The operation was a success, Barb is the Doctor's star
Recovery is ahead of schedule a full month so far
Feeding tube and boot will be removed tomorrow afternoon
I know Barb is thankful, this doesn't come too soon

The Doctor removed a bone from my sister-in-law's thigh
He shaped it, molded it to replace the one removed up high
Her twelve hours in surgery were guided by your hand
I praise you and thank you Lord by her side you still stand

You and you alone are worthy of all praise and love
Your kindness and your guidance all come from above
Barb soon will be walking all on her own
Because of your love Lord your kindness you have shown

Author notes

This prayer is for my sister-in-law who has with the Lord's help endured a 12 hour surgery to remove her jaw bone, muscles, etc. Her Dr. removed a bone from her thigh and shaped it to replace the jaw bone he removed. I believe the Lord held her through her surgery and guided the Dr.'s and nurses, through all of this. Her Dr. said she is his star patient and is about 4 weeks ahead in her recovery time. PRAISE THE LORD.

This is a wonderful prayer of praise and thanksgiving. We far to often petition His healing and help, but forget to praise Him for giving it. I join you in your praise. Thank you for sharing in this contest.

      Thank You

Frogzter, I spoke with my sister-in-law last evening. She is walking now with a cane. She graduated from the walker to the cane. She still has a home nurse coming to her house 3 days a week and the other 2, she has to call the nurse to let her know how her incision is healing on her leg. She has a wonderful attitude. She really liked my poem I wrote for her. She is going to take it to her Dr. next Friday when she goes for her checkup. Thank you for your prayers, I know Barb appreciates all the prayers she has received and is still receiving prayers.
