Cracks in the sidewalk
Tell me where to go
Lines in a notebook
Tell me what to show
People that ask questions
Tell me what to know
And a 51 card deck
Tells me how to grow
All the other people
Say its just a sham
They’re told they have no purpose
And nod their heads, “Yes ma’am”
They hold back all feelings
Like water with a dam
I stare at a dancing candle
And realize who I am.
Author notes
I was avoiding studying for a test. I don't even know what any of this means I just started writing and this is what came out. If anyone can find something in this poem let me know.

Nice rhyme and flow. Funny how spur of the moment things come to the end of our pen and later we know it has meaning. thanks for your entry.

Welcome to AllPoetry
Pretty cool stuff can just drip out of a pen sometimes when we just write on the spur of the moment without overthinking things. I think you have written a poem that can mean something to most anyone depending on their frame of reference. It has a nice flow and reads well aloud.
Keep writing and again, welcome
