Gazing in awe at its size
It is a gateway to darkness
The fear enters his soul
The darkness stands before him
He begins to back away
He’s stood at tunnels before
Some welcome, others not
Each ended in suffering
Mysteries that lie ahead
Cause him to tremble
But he slowly steps in
Seeking a rare light
So many have seen
Except for his eyes
Author notes
This was the poem that took me the fastest to write. I was wondering whether or not to take my chances on this girl and well I didn't know if I should take the risk of asking her out and stuff. My friend told me to go for it, at that point all of a sudden the inspiration came to me, to write this poem. It didn't work out with the girl but the experience gave me this poem.

Well-written. It's sparse, but in a good way; I can't stop thinking about the poem.
