Free To Love

I may be caged by society's rules
Until it comes to it's senses
The changes are coming, albeit slow
I don't understand these fences

I mind it, indeed I do,
Why do you think I should not?
I am not asking for anything special
No more than you've already got

Regardless what you think
Or your belief religiously
This is about rights
And about equality

Though you say it's not right
Goes against the grain
Consider this thought
Use a logical brain

The laws to forbid me
Just because you think it's scary
But I will remain every day
Free to love, if not marry.

Lady P, I see shades of a response to Liz's write here and you are both so right in your words. Society has no place to judge who we love or marry. It is our hearts that matter. It's a shame that the law makers have to look down their noses on matters of the heart. I for one don't believe they should be our judges here. Thank you for sharing this brilliant piece with all of us and you have all my best wishes for happiness together. Love and God bless you my friend, Joyce

Dang straight! Who we love is nobody's business, and the government should not have any say either. Love comes from the heart. As long as it is between two consenting adults, it is ONLY their business. Thanks for sharing.
Much love to both of you!
