Peace,
quiet
composure
at day’s ending,
as small ones drift off
to unknown dream vistas,
repressed when maturity
erases year’s tranquility,
among life’s shadowed realities,
slumber postponed while worrying for naught.
Bills piled that grasp our mind’s lethargic look,
perusal of evening news broadcast
deadens soul’s sensitivity
as fear fumbles for some hope
that lies beyond closed door,
where young minds sleep on,
waiting to learn
harmony
for their
world.

excellent~
This is an excellent ethree....I have read a couple of your poems and each one is just as excellent as the other...and you penned this one well..bills worrys just everyday existence wanting some type of symbolism of peace...you turn on the news and it's nothing but killings and violence...nothing worth smiling about much anymore...hardly any good human intrest stories out there and surely there is just one somewhere in this place we call the Unite States and our homeland, shoot just our hometown...wouldn't it be nice to see something just something...we could say "Hey that was so neat on the news on the other news that couple being married for 80 years" It did happen on our local channel...the only bit of good news among the killings, the war,gas going up,medical bills rising you name it.....
I entered this one too hope you come give mine a read as well...
Best of luck in the contest...
Hugs
Susan~~~

Well done! I love the Etheree and a double etheree is twice as lovely. The image is great! I can't relate to the mature years yet but I can certainly relate to piled up bills stealing my lethergy.
Love,
Amera ♥
