With every kiss
Of crystal eyes;
Every insecurity you had
Made you real.
Drown the temperature
In fresh baked bread.
Scalded skin;
Smelling of fantasy.
Covering heart-break in
onions-pretense
For a different
Taste in tears.
Asking if I was alright
When all I could do was
Grin and bottle up
Manufactured pain.
Lying through steel
And peeling back layers
-Irony blasting through
Speakers that beat
Rhythms into my head
That spell your name out
In 4/4 time.
Stitching you down,
Why do you still
Shatter
When I move?
Author notes
Beauty of pain
Number one
It's beautiful because it is an emotion and it was good while whatever it was lasted
You think I would get the hint.
But I still can't find the flaws.
The only reason it hurts so bad is because I think that he's the closest thing to feeling accepted/connected with a guy that I'm ever going to find.
And I was so wrong.
Yay.
At least I'm not cutting myself, right?
The title means something. It does tie in
Take most of the images literally.

I absolutely love this. I'm speechless. I think you captured almost exactly what I was going for with this contest. The way that a painful moment can be glorious at the same time. How even though it's killing you, you can't help savor every painful second. It becomes a part of you. You have no choice but to give in to the beauty of the moment and at least die with a new appreciation.
Good job. I love the imagery. Good luck -
I think this is one of my favorites from you. This is effing astounding. The emotion wells up within each stanza and you start off so strong, the reader can't help but to be pulled into the poem.
The images in each verse were so well tied together and complete. Each connects with one another, yet one has to read really closely to tell the relation. I love poetry like that. Along with the basic fact that all the illustrations are fabulous, they have excellent evolution throughout them. You don't stay stuck in one scene.
I adore the ending, it compliments the work, and sums up the piece marvelously.
Definitely awesome and poignant. Great job.
