I know you will come
looking for me ....
I felt the rough surface
with my fingers and smiled
could my touch be retained
in here and locked safely
till you come?
Would you be able to
recognize my touch?
My breaths were slow and steady
tired and defeated of all hope
of ever embracing you tight and close
I kneeled down,
lowered my head
and closed my eyes
as in prayer.
Your smiling face,
Your gentle touch,
your kind words..
I felt
as if I am with you
as if I will always be with you
oh! If only I could trade
all good deeds of this life
with your happiness,
your well-being
your smiles,
and,
just few more moments
by your side
Maybe I could never tell you enough
how much you meant to me
And, now,
it could be
the end
of my eternity...
I don't know
how to tell you
it's true
I am in love with you
I embrace this end
on Love's altar,
with gratitude and pride,
For you,
I can and will
surrender my life
with a smile
