Another birthday?
Let's celebrate!
You bring the food,
I'll bring my plate.

I like chocolate icing
on devil's food cake
with strawberry ice cream;
home made and home baked.

I'm not very fussy,
just so you know.
You can take me out,
even choose where to go.

Let's eat somewhere nice,
I think you should splurge
Your Visa won't mind,
just go with my urge.

My best gift to you
is attentive friendship
I'll listen to stories;
(I might snore a bit.)

    Guess the only one put out here is the poor old Visa Everything falls back on it. A most enjoyable read with fine rhyme and flow had a smile creep on my face with the opening stanza

    I love that you focused on the food, that is pretty funny, a card that is like "Happy Birthday, what's in it for me?" Cute!

    This is really cute; especially the nodding off bit. I'd like to go out somewhere nice myself just to celebrate Thursday! I don't want dessert though ... I want real food. Maybe a trip ... nice job on the write!

    Well just to have a friend there means the world. And if they can do little things for you and you for them. That wonderful. Friendship is the doorway to our souls. And love is the entrance of our hearts. Without a Friend our life’s don’t feel whole. And with out love our hearts fall apart. (Lisa)
