We stood in the midst of a desolate beach,
Two friends stumbling into Eden.
We looked at each other, and we smiled,
and then dropped our clothes and lingered.
We lingered to look at each other,
Each of us a mystery to the other.
I looked from your toes to your imagined tiara,
You looked from my crown to my sandied feet.
We smiled again, and clasped hands,
And walked to the vegetation of the lowlands.
There we picked flowers and looked at leaves
Chasing butterflys as we did please.
Soon we headed out and splashed in the ocean,
And splashed one another, and dove like whales.
Then giggled to the beach, kicking sand,
And looked at each other...one last time.
Our clothes we replaced and hugged each other,
And dropped in the car, and sped away.
Leaving behind a moment in time, a time...
When two friends had some time to play.

Deeply Stated Emotions
that gave me a whole new out look on the word friendship, this piece is magnificent in many ways. It shows an undying love, and understanding between two people. Totally beautiful! Excellent writing;
at the beach one of my most favorite places in the world....The read pulled me in and embraced my emotions..this what makes it rock!......novy

This has a sweet innocence about it, kind of like back when young and it was about friendship and not relationship.
Sweet memories indeed. Thanks for the trip back...

This is truly beautiful. The gift of
friendship...yes, I agree, it can be
more fulfilling and more important than
almost any other relationship, and you
have penned your thoughts well on the
subject. Thank you very much for
entering my contest. Love, Lane
