The magical land of make-believe

In a far away land
With green fields and white sand
There is magic all around you
That you can use if you know how to
And change the world with a wave of the hand.

Imagination is what you must use
In order to use the magic however you choose
And if your mind is creative enough
And you do the right stuff,
In this land you will never have the blues.

Mostly there are only children there
Because most adults just don't care
To be in such a place
They consider it a disgrace
So to see an adult in that land is rare.

It is the land of make-believe you know
The place where children love to go
To use magic and have fun
Until the wonderful dream is done
And they are returned to this world of woe.

But they will go back there some day
And than they will joyfully play
In that magical land
With green fields and white sand
And that is where their hearts will truly stay.

I love the thoughts expressed in this poem. Children do have the gift for make believe and adults should escape into fantasy more often. It makes the mundane world much more bearable. Good luck in this contest. Peace, Liz
