Belly sways from side to side as he walks
swinging first to the left, then the right
He sleeps throughout most of the day
And hunts thoughout most of the night.
Harley
Fur - his is snow dirtied with brown
and streaks of mud here and there
Ears - he has none, so comical he looks
As he chases insects through the air.
Harley
Snores like a giant's rumbling voice
His own voice the scratch of violins
His favourite noise the call of a bird
or better, the opening of tins!
Harley
Pads so soft
Tail so tall
He's so cute
He's really small
Harley

Excellent
Nice job on describing Harley to me. I knew he was a kitty even before I read your authors notes.
The image of an earless cat chasing insects made me smile. Is he some kind of earless breed? I don't think I have ever seen one like that.
My favorite (love your european favourite)lines are these:
Snores like a giant's rumbling voice
His own voice the scratch of violins
scratch of violins? I never would have thought to describe a cats voice like that. But it is a perfect representation. I really love that you have even created sound through imagery.
His favourite noise the call of a bird
or better, the opening of tins!
It's true cats definantly know their dinner bell. Be it the tink of the tin, the grind of the can opener, or the shake of the box.
Harley sounds like a terrific cat. Thank you for introducing him, and thank you for joining my contest.

Thanks
Thankyou for your comment (and giving it so quickly and so detailed!) You asked if he was a specific breed - no, he's just a jumbly moggy! He had to have his ears removed because they got sunurnt and became cancerous. He's OK now though!
Thanks again
Katie
