Oh what was that?
A sigh of the wind, no couldn’t be.
Sounds too much like a child’s laughter.
What was that?
A glittery wing, to big to be butterflies.
Too small to be a bird.
Ouch! A tug at my hair.
Sparkles left behind! No, just pollen.
Another laugh, this one sounds closer.
I spy little orbs of light dancing in the meadow.
They giggle and fly away.
One asks me to play. We laughed and said “just believe and you can find us.”
I grew older and it passed from my memory.
And as adults we don’t believe in fairies. But one summer’s day a breeze brought to my ears a sound a giggle.
A giggle that I had heard before.
I saw them playing with a little girl.
Then I knew that she would grow old and forget.
And this would go on forever, but I still believe.
That one giggle made me believe.
Do you believe?

Ahhh...yes I do believe!!! Those tiny giggles...those flying lights...the Fey are a very shy people my dear! But you are so right, we must believe in them...then our visions become clear. I loved your poem and I thank you for reading and commenting on mine!

nice writing
I think that the writing is really awesome. The quality is great! However, the idea is a bit old...the whole thing about playing with faries and then growing to old to remember.
Great write though!
P.S. i'm the person the sits next to you in chorus...

I love this!
Good job! It reminds me of things I've written in the past. This is very well done, I like the way it flows and gives a wonderul mental image of magical days gone by!
I always will be a BELIEVER...no matter how old I get! (I haven't added anything to my page yet, been too busy, but I would love to add you as a friend. We have much in common by the looks of things... what you listed on yer page.) Can't wait to read more of your work. :0)
