In your eyes,
I see...
Something,
that scares me,
So,
I force my glance away,
Unfamiliar warmth ?
Please,
believe me !
I don't,
want to break your heart,
But your warmth....
So,
All consuming...
Maybe more,
Than I can withstand,
I question myself...
Do I withstand ?
Or...
Allow it
to command me ?
So let's just take this moment
and let it be,
For there is,
Something in your eyes
that scares me,
I dare not
look in.

OH the FEAR that another can cause. The fear of not wanting to give up what is safe within ourself. The fear of giving and not receiving. I think many feel this way but don't show it or deal with this...feeling alone with it. I like this poem too and think many can relate to this. I pick this one.....

Eyes are said to be one gateway to the soul. All I know is that I see something in the guy I love that no one else can see, but then again I think I could be crazy. I loved your poem, because in some way I can relate to it. Keep on writing and letting the words flow.
Blessed be,

Good words. The pictures perfectly goes with this writing! -
Wow, now tell me if I'm wrong but the fear to look in her eyes comes from, she does not return the same kind of love. Am I right or am I wrong? Anyhow, I really liked this a lot, just like all of your stuff. It has that bittersweet quality to it, and I'm a sucker for the bittersweet stuff. Anyways, thnak you so much for sharing your words and experiences with all of us here.

Thank you Kat !

Kinda a sad read although many have prolly felt this way before. Perhaps a hurt relationship from the past hindering one from loving and being loved. You expressed this very well.
