Music For An Empty Stage

Sprinkling kisses
of dew upon listening
ears of the audience
standing ovation
front lawn awakes.

Ice sickles break
upon unsuspecting heads
empty of terms
full of air
now drowning
in the sounds of the
vibrato and intonation.

The grand illusion
memories once forgotten
sounding through
rafters and plaster
from a wooden stage
into ears unable
to visualize.

Blue clear sky
open clear notes
enough love
enough pain
to fill hearts
sculpt chills
call for tears
as music rings
-from a
      never heard
position-

Please tell me what you think

I sometimes used to go out on stage before a performance and imagine the audience sitting there. It's deeply nostalgic.

I do that too... peak out... because it hurts a musician if nobody is there to perform for... and if they are there... they have no clue to what is happening on stage... the beauty of it all. That's what I was trying to get at. Thanks for the comment! xoxo Meg
