I will never forget the pain
It is etched forever on my heart
I wanted to cry out
The ring was there on her finger
The smiles and congratulations
Resounded in my head which spun with shock
The pain was crushing me, taking my breath away
Disbelief
This could not be true, how could this be true?
Our eyes met and I knew
What could I do?
I could not show my pain
No one knew of US
No one could know
I had to get away
Hide
Cry
Quietly
My feet flew past you
You followed with your eyes
Why?
Why?
How could I have been such a fool?
I had wanted you so much
You made me feel so desired
No one looked at me the way you did
With that longing hunger
That sent my pulses racing
No one made me feel the way you did
I loved you and you loved me
Didn’t you?
How could I live without you?
I sat in that small room
Listening to happy voices
As my world ended and silent tears were shed
