5.) When I'm -- Dead

There will be nobody to tell me to go to bed.
I'll go where I please, and if I want, stand on my head.
They try to control me so much that I want to throw up,
But they lose all their control as soon as I -- die.

Yes, I'll be eating candy for every last meal,
And I'll  be playing video games whenever I feel.
I'll start and end each day with a giant chocolate malt.
Life will be so wonderful once I'm -- a corpse.

No chores, no church, no wearing my clothes tight.
No broccoli, no parents.  My future's looking bright.
I'll just have what I want and everything else will be blown up.
I really, really, really can't wait for the day when I'm -- dead.

Author notes

This is the fifth part in my series about the end of the world. I don't know how well it comes across when read. To explain, I envision it as a number in a Broadway musical. It is song by a child, and they're angry with adults always telling them what to do, so they're singing about what their lives will be like once they've grown up (the rhyme scheme is even set up to match this). However, in the universe this song is set in, the world is going to end in 5 or 6 days, so this kid will never actually get the chance to be an adult.

Since I haven't put any entries in this series in almost 11 months, here are links to the first 4 poems so you can get caught up:
1. "Before the End of the World" - http://allpoetry.com/poem/1833948
2. *Has No Title* - http://allpoetry.com/poem/1837236
3. "One Week, Three Days" - http://allpoetry.com/poem/1858572
4. "Diaries" - http://allpoetry.com/poem/2128711

Expect entry 6 in the series to show up in about a year or so (just kidding, maybe).

Please tell me what you think
