In a world that judges faces
Which face shall I be today?
Shall I put on my look of obedience
Or wear my independent smirk?
Is the color of my skin
Indicative of how my day will go?
How do I know which to choose?
Why isn’t my truth enough?
Should I use my time wondering
Pondering if the me I’ve chosen to be today
Is good enough for the world?
Or should I just spin and point
In a parody of the donkey tail
Hoping the face on which I land
Will be the one the world most wants to see?

I like this. It is deep and kind of playful at the same time. It speaks the truth.

Thank you for entering, and good luck with the contest
