There Are Reasons

Missing image
We all try the best we can,
but to some that is never enough.
What may come so easily to most,
to others the smallest thing is tough.

Why do we allow in a 'civilized' society,
for those who have to gain even more.
While others have absolutely nothing,
the 'haves' choose to boldly ignore.

Everyone that lives on this planet,
deserves to have their basic needs met.
If the governments where run by the 'people'
would we end up like 'them' and forget?

All of us are responsible for the conditions,
of the places where we each live.
Local governments are accountable,
for all the contributions we give.

If these big rich corporations,
really cared for their 'bottom line'.
They could do so much for this planet,
instead of being such greedy and selfish swine.

The companies who give back to this world,
should be who we give all our business to.
Those who have the means to give support,
should stand up and say "What can I do!'

Those who are homeless are for a reason,
they can be folks just like you and me.
I don't believe they all chose this situation,
so what can we each do to set them free.

This is a well thought out write. It rings of truth to the world we live in today. Those who have so much carry more of responsible ability to help our world. They choose to look the other way. Our plant and people are suffering. We the people for the people has lost some of it vision. In many governments they are more concern about the almighty dollar. See a person as a number they kind of forget that number eats, has feelings, sometimes needs help. The ones who fall though the cracks they are blamed. There a list of excuses the politician uses not to take blame for the cause. This is a very compassion write for our humanity to take notice of those who are poorer then we are. Everyone can help donate time to a food kitchen that feeds the homeless. Some who are better off can donate food and clothes. Even if one gives a loaf of bread to a homeless person at least this is showing kindness to them. I agree many are one paycheck away from being homeless. There is a variety of reasons it happens. The compassion you show for others may help others see that they can help in some way. Very well done.

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD THIS WOULD BE

Sadly though it probably will never be, there is always hope though that just maybe one day much of this will come true.

    Interesting

Interesting concept here.. because some of the homeless that is their choice.those are the ones who don't ask for a dime or a hand out. there are people out there who are trying to help but the local government shots them down... all the way down to nothing... this was good piece to read.

ooh you have hit within a lot of things here,
so many things need reform, I know a younge mother who is trying to get off welfare, but the so called reform of it all would leave her with less getting off, how in the world do they think people would make it,
you would be right many do not choose to be homeless but become it because reform is nothing more then a word. sigh...
A very deep write showcasing the rality of some.
    Blessings,

Thanks, I know that something can be done with all the millions stolen from the working class in taxes and fees and so on every year. It boggles my mind to think about it. Great contest. Good luck.
