Who shall I be today?
Should I put on a face
That says
I am the man
Or one slightly punkish
To make me look the tough guy
What will that girl like
To see
On me?

Who shall I be today?
I need something impressive
To get the interviewer's attention
So that I can get that job
And buy that car I've been wanting

I can never be myself
Because nobody likes a face
Covered in acne
And scars
From life's trials
They aren't character marks
They are the ruining of my life

So who shall I be today?
This one
Or that one?
Which head should I choose?

Author notes

Sorry didn't mean to steal your line.

So many people think that no one can like them for who they are. That's what this poem is about.... puting on a new face for everybody and hiding their true self.

...and put on a happy face...
This poem reminded me of that. It's true that most put on a different 'face' depending on the circumstances, and it would be cool if we literally could put on a *different face* like the image.

Thank you for entering, and good luck with the contest
