Your name is
a memory breeze
Darfur,
you live inside of me.
But the blood being shed
and the lives you lost
asked for so much more
than democracy.
Your legacy is
a memory never to be seized.
Humans are empowered
against the majoritys will,
People are imprisoned
dreams go unfulfilled.
As I wait
for my country to prosper
I remember
that in my blood
is Darfur.
Tears become
like the Nile
A rampage with a gun,
my family was displaced.
Agencies for hope
couldnt stop the bloody rape.
It makes me sick
to know where I come from
a bloodstained warzone,
a sickening gulp of rum.
Your name is
a memory breeze.
Darfur,
you're still a part of me.

I love this. It's as if it's saying, "Darfur is a memory to me, but it hasn't ended."
God Bless,
