One Brief Moment

VERSE ONE

You fight this fight alone,
Unnoticed in the storm
Of uncertainty,
It’s hard to control

The feeling from within,
Your artificial skin
And you wonder why
You are here alone.

CHOROUS ONE

But tonight, I’m here
Tonight, I’m near…
Right by your side
For one brief moment.

And when you’re on your own
And you find yourself alone
Remember when,
Remember then,
I was here.

VERSE TWO

The world can be so harsh,
Cold and so uncaring…
Living life itself
Becomes demanding.

Waking from a dream
Seems like such a simple thing,
Until you try,
That’s when you start to cry.

CHOROUS TWO

But tonight, I’m here,
So dry your tears
I’m near you by your side
For one brief moment.

And when you’re on your own
And you find yourself alone
Remember when,
Remember then,
I was here.

BRIDGE

Don’t run away
From what you have believed in,
Don’t ever betray
Everything you are.
Don’t be led astray
Just close your eyes and pray,
And I’ll come back to you.

FINAL CHOROUS

So tonight, I’ll be here
To wipe away your tears.
Don’t fear, I’m here beside you
For a moment.

When the lights have all gone out,
Don’t you ever doubt
That I was ever here,
‘Cause I was always near.
Wipe away your tears,
Don’t be afraid.

And when you’re on your own
And you find yourself alone
Remember when,
Remember then…
Remember all the times I brought you back…
I was here.
I was near…
I was here.

Author notes

    Remember then…

    I was near…

    Outstanding

This lyric is full of emotion. I thought it would make a brilliant song. This is both sophisticated and artistic with lots of emotion. Excellent to read.

I'm gonna be nit-picky and say I didn't like the last two lines of verse two. but, I liked the rest of the song, so I guess that outweighs those two lines. I like your songs. They are so beautiful.
