A Prayer. That's what this reminds me of, Tara. I've been "away" for awhile, yet it's always a pleasure to tap into old friends writings to rejuvenate. Lovingly written, which makes you a pleasure to read.

Peace within each individual IS peace in the world for are we not the world? It is only our addiction to the "me" of us that keeps us blinded to the Peace That Is All, that is us. And, yes, the breaking of the ego habits is the fundamental war for mankind.
