I Love You Dad

I Love You Dad

Ever since I was young, you taught me love
Things that you taught me came only from you
When I was confused, I looked for my Dad

As I grew older, I looked to you Dad
And in subtle ways you gave me your love
Being always sincere, I put my trust in you

So now I am grown and I still love you
You stood by me, I’m so proud of you Dad
Rock solid as always, I count on your love

I can’t tell you how much, I love you Dad

It seems a complex form of poem, but it's worth it: this poem is very touching. Good write.

    Hi
    Loved this totally!
My father was a very kind and lovely man. Sadly he has passed away, and so the sentiments in your poem are quite special. I wish I could read it to him now.
    The line:
'When I was confused I looked for my Dad', really captures the way I felt as a child. I thought he could fix any problem, mend any toy and there was nothing he couldn't do in my eyes.
    Wonderful!

You reached into my heart and I can say not only are you proud of your dad, he must be very proud of you. Thank you for sharing your beauty as always. Another brilliant piece and I wish you the best in the contest. It sounds golden. Love and God bless you my friend, Joyce

Thank you Joyce, I agree it's a mini Sestina. I don't know who invented it but it's perfect for some poems.
