From Beta Reticuli, terrestrials watch, wait patiently
as river beds are sapped dry from the Sun’s thirst,
creatures fossilized from four eruptions simultaneously
without warning, floods overflow, Hoover Dam bursts;

and one man instigates, initiates WWIII unfortunately

till crimson streams overflow, catastrophe the worst.

Borders unsecured, union of terrorists and some citizens

who fight to allow amnesty under shroud of church grace
in hopes support gained, citizenship granted for dozens

of followers with stolen social security cards, faux face;

plan next attack, Washington monuments, memorial cousins

vandalized by anti-American voices, want to annihilate race.

San Francisco will crack from 'pier' pressure underneath,
San Andreas Fault becomes fly trap, swallow fatalities
after another bridge collapses, earth shakes with teeth;
bites power lines to electrocute, storm comes conveniently

with showers, some Hope and heartache, funeral wreaths.
President to make visit, college sniper caught, reserve in Army.

Slick slime released into cleanest oceans, planned pollutants
labeled organic under umbrella of experiments tested

to see effects on skin, internal organs, other human ailments

after death deemed suicide or unknown, autopsy suggested;

"Denied" as it might affect corporate short – long term investments
while viral strain added to rural water, witness lab worm ingested.

More sightings of unexplained events cause goose chases
but government sends in suited men to silence the enemy

with appearance of absence due to intent, eyebrow raises
yet anyone who questions, fatal accident result, erase family;
no trail left behind, high officials promoted, monetary praises.
Another visitor from skies flails into Earth, cover up completely.

    Thank you so much for your entry into my contest, your talent and hard work are very much appreciated. I do love this poem, it has all the elements that I like and wanted for this contest, and for that I do thank you. The flow was done nicely, all the lines were very symmetrical and an overall great poem. Great job and good luck

    WoW!

    This really made me think!

    This is a well penned poem with a wonderful rhyme scheme but the image is a real life problem. Or... is it? A cover up, a secret; or a knowm fact?
    Well done! I like this my friend.

    Love,
    Amera ♥
