The quiet solitude within
This peaceful place
Is where
The sunlight shines upon a once hardened face
For life has been lived at the center of a storm
Where clouded skies have been formed.
The raging rains have fallen as a rushing torrent
Flooding this wanderer’s soul.
Then receding only to leave a multitude of scars and more;
Cut deep into this landscape called life.
Peace now resides
Where chaos once reigned.
The fires have died out
That caused only hate, pain and rage.
Now within this quiet solitude,
A peacefulness has settled in
To create a paradise
Where only love can heal all wounds
And the birds can sing their golden sweet songs
And the breeze of life can blow with a gentle ease.
Where a person can be totally at peace
Within oneself
And can see
Heart to heart,
Soul to soul
With everyone they meet.
The quiet solitude within
Is where
This person shall forever roam
At rest and at peace.
Author notes
This was written on May 7, 2007 at the pond behind my house while I was waiting for the boy scout troop to show up for a Crossover/Court of Honor ceremony.
I was thinking about life and what has been dealt to my family and I in the last five years or so and concentrating on how peaceful and relaxing it seemed to be being in that place at that particular moment in time.
The whole atmosphere surrounding the place at the time was the inspiration for this poem. The breeze blowing gently across the waters of the pond and the birds singing in the trees was greatly inspiring. I hope that you enjoy this poem.

One needs to be in a quiet place where they can just sit back and let their feelings and thoughts talk with them.

I will start with expressing my thoughts on this line
"The fires have died out

Only when the fires that burn within us are put out
can we begin to feel peace, Such a hard place at times to reach but we must in order to move on..
