On the altar there is a heart.
Flesh to consume, love to accept
for all. This documentary
allows us to watch everything
God(s) made. A fish eats
a smaller fish. The monkey,
consumed by an Eagle.
When it is hungry,
everyone else is a monkey.
The tiger eats a lesser creature, and we claim
to act by the laws of nature.
To murder
is to defend oneself,
or to claim dominion,
or to commit suicide.
The Lady wears no blindfold,
as she tips the scales
to misguided favor.
That is justice for the selfish.
But overwhelming is victory!
The crocodiles are teary-eyed
while devouring dead meat
fresh from battle.
Grateful for their blessings
they choose to keep for themselves.
But perhaps it is the law
of Nature. A creature
for another creature.
For the Eagle enjoys
flesh to consume, love to accept,
that is, to keep living
until he is devoured himself.
Author notes
Not one of my newest. This one was written February 12, 2007. It is to be part of my third chap book. I posted this here just so something "new" would grace my account.

I'm so glad something "new" is finally here I really enjoyed this! I also loved how you made the crocodile teary-eyed and spoke of justice the way you did.
But perhaps it is the law
of Nature. A creature
for another creature.
Beautiful as always!
Love and peace
