Third Wheel

It seems that I play the extra
In this soap opera called life
Going through the drama
Taking the hits
But as soon as the good parts come
The supposed real star comes in
Getting the glory
The awards,applause,support
Yes,my name may be in the credits
But is that really a just amount of appreciaton
I'm tired of playing third wheel

I sit in the corner
Laughing and talking
Chiming in with a witty remark or two
Cracking the jokes that make every chuckle
Working to just be part of the group
But she twirls and flips her hair
Not really doing anything
Yet she captures  all the attention
They ask for her name,age,what she likes
Fiegns interest in her silliest whim
All while I remain nameless
No one caring who I am
I'm tired of playing third wheel

Just a group of friends having fun
All the guys and girls together
Friends are fine
But when it all turns romantic
And the couples start heating up
The passion is there
And I sit alone
Wanting love,attention,a kiss
But forced to sit there with love thrown in my face
I'm tired of playing third wheel


Not really cast out
Not really alone
Loved by my friends
They know I'll be there
They know my name
But I'm not on their list
I know it could be worse
But I know I deserve better
I choose what I can in my life
But others choose the rest
I'm tired of playing third wheel

I am human
I feel the same
Just because I'm different
I still have name
This is for all the quiet ones out there
Those to nervous to stand up
Those who think it will do no good
This isn't about pity
It's only a wake up call
Just becuase we don't jump in
Doesn't mean we want to stand against the wall
Don't let us do that
Because we really don't want to
Just show us you care
We aren't going to just do it
We sure aren't going to ask
But should we have to
I think not
