Neither star nor soldier falls to the ground
that God does not notice.
He promised us that his eye is always on the sparrow
and I know that he watches over this young man.
Sometimes we cannot be content to pretend to know why,
but we can be content that he is in Gods hands.
We cannot remember on Memorial Day only those that have gone
before, but rather to remember those that will still come after.
The heroes of 911, the soldiers that still march despite hardships
and lack of praise.
We can only bow our head and pray for this man who gave his
all, that we today have the freedom to be all that we can be.
Thank you Eric (Spence) Smallwood, the stars shine brighter as you are with them.
