The grass is at my elbow.
The weeds are to my knees.
I’d like to start the mowing,
But that will make me wheeze.
The pollen starts me coughing.
Hayfever’s such a pain.
Just the sight of a lawn mower,
Will make me sneeze again.
So I’ll sit here on in my deck chair.
And drink my G & T real slow.
‘Cos there’s nothing I like better,
than to sit and watch grass grow.

Ahhh allergies... you illustrate this very well. The descriptors make it seem liek I'm actually in the poem. It helps that I got a good chuckle out of it too.

This is cute - and so, so true. Seems like the grass grows faster than we can keep up with - and it just stirs up those nasty allergies when we do mow. So it's much more fun to sit and watch it grow...lol.
