Sunset

Oh Great Sunset
How wondrous is your fiery furnace.
Dissolving all the sorrows of the day.
Providing comfort,
consuming all life's pains.

Oh Great Sunset
Whose beauty fulfills all passion.
Sparking romance while colorful rays
dance on the hearts
of the young and old.

Oh Great Sunset
Watching your flame blaze accross the sky.
Casting downward into the ashes of dusk.
I anticipate your return
tomorrow night with joy.

This is nice. Some of it maybe seems a little cliched (firey furnace) but the ending is certainly good. The idea of hope and anticipation is always a pleasant thing to end on. And we have pretty top sunsets back home where I live so I know exactly what you're talking about. Keep it up. Bench

There is no doubt dawn and sunset are still very evocative… to those that notice such things – lol. Having said that I thought this poem was just a tad over the top – unless of course you work until sunset...

I always thought it would be rather amazing to fly in a jet following the terminator, at the right speed for the latitude you could have hours of sunset!ˇ Strange that what we tended to think of as the epitome of transience is in reality a constantˇ!

    WONDROUS, INDEED!

    OH GREAT SUNSET
HOW WONDROUS IS YOUR FIERY FURNACE
DISSOLVING ALL THE SORROWS OF THE DAY!

Fine lines, indeed - Kat! I'm SO GLAD that I had a few to stop to view more of your work. This was a WONDROUS piece to say the least! I TRULY enjoyed it! A welldeserved hand and a promise to come back again to read more of the WONDERS that you have to offer!
    Love & Peace!
    Earl.
