Minds fogged to stupidity
taken over by the lust
the beauty, the imagination.
Blind to reality
only the media has proof
guns let off a bang
smoke clouds the minds
common sense fades
-television
has taken
over-
Insert and repeat
disease was no option
for celebrities get it often
but never the consequences
-for them
life is
perfect-
Breathe it in
pass it around
like a game boy
the new hit
just as the thugs show
it’s cool in the movies
Minds drink up
the glory flashing before them
like a shot of hard whisky.
Remote controlled eyes
pause on the gore
slow motion through sex
stop in truth
play in lies
fast forward through fears
rewind to replay hopes
-never
showing
what
should
be seen-
Author notes
The media hypnotizes youth today making things like sex, drugs, alcohol, and violence look okay leading to problems in the society. Hope it's okay Ty! (For Teen Idol 5 Round 2)

Your line breaks were way overpowering. I think that threw me off a lot. I also think you could have gone much deeper with a topic like this one. With it's lack of originality, you should have made up for it by giving the content a HUGE amount of time. I didn't see that. But I still enjoyed this on the whole, so not bad. -

I like this.
I felt you broke the lines way too much, and it kind of rushed a bit. Other than that, you had good idea, and I enjoyed this.

This is all so very true. Sad, but true. If parents want to enforce a good outlook and prevent bad decisions, they need look no further than their television. So many negative influences and vices are glorified on TV and in the movies. Very well written, and the last line, "never showing what should be seen," sums it all up perfectly.
