's no joke...

Missing image
It may have been foolish to go
Mow the lawn in a downpour of snow
As well as the grass
I cut half of my ass,
An elbow, two shins and a toe

P.J. . .first, with a last name like Murphy, I wonder if your first name is Patrick. . .?
LOL, and after this horrible accident, I cant help but think it is.
I had a grandpa that had a hat that said God created Whiskey to prevent the Irish from ruling the world, and I dont think he was wrong.
I wish you all the best in this contest.
    Love,
    jin

LOL. I was just thinking about mowing my dew covered lawn. Perhaps I will wait until it dries. Nice job.

While this was cute it is not a ballad. Rather it is a limerick - and a good one.

But thanks for entering the contest, anyway. celtic queen

Actually, as I read it again, it has the spirit of a ballad, telling the story of how a foolish person tried to mow a lawn covered with snow. It just doesn't have the form of a ballad. I'll have to think about this one.

Thanks Mistic, changed the last line to remove the typo. As for the snow - well, I'm from Ireland. Nuff said!
