I was young.
I had lost all hope in love,
in faith, in forever.
You were old.
To me you looked like love,
smelled like faith,
tasted like forever.
I just wanted someone to love me.
And you did.
But you loved the coccaine more.
You would beg me,
countless and countless times.
Please, just get on your knees,
lay on your back...
then I'll be free from this debt.
Please do this for me,
I'll love you forever.
He'll love me forever.
So again I sit on my knees,
lay on my back,
covered in filth,
sucking away,
fucking away,
the debt of drugs and violence.
I was a whore.
But to me, he looked like love,
smelled like faith,
and tasted like forever.
I was young,
But I was a whore.
Tricked by a smile,
and a cheap cologne.
Forever scarred with dirty knees
and a broken soul.

When I read this, my first thought is I am glad I am not a young person growing up today. The poem is good but the message is a sad one.
-
This was so very sad and the pain was so well expressed. Very well written and flowed well. We do not realise when we are young how long forever can be. I pray for those scarred, broken and lost souls. God bless.

-
wow this is a very sad and powerful write! Much props on expressing this pain.

-
Sadly enough this is a common thing in today's youth. These vultures take advantage and take away the more important part of a person; being their self esteem.

-
This is a very heartfelt write. It is a shame that you had to have such a negative experience in the end though. It's a very well written and great poem. Great job, and thank you for entering. Good luck.

Like you said you was young take your experiences and grow from them and try not to be to hard on yourself ....you did a great job writing that

-
AWWWW how sad to experience this in your young life...I hope you found a true love later on???
Don't judge yourself to hard....how could you know...love blinds you know...to the young and to the old
Take care,
