I can hear the breathing of the masses,
They never move while they walk towards their classes.
There's no one near me and nothing stays the same,
Except, perhaps, that lonely is my middle name.
I walk the halls that have been walked before,
But I can't see the people that have walked through the door.
The one that leads to the beginning of the game,
The one that tells me that lonely is my middle name.
I sit in the very back, away from human habitation,
I haven't learned the skill that they call adaptation.
All I can do is sit and watch their growing fame,
That pushes home the point that lonely is my middle name.
I wait for lunch to end so that I can leave this hell,
And behold, it's not long before I hear the bell.
I rush to class, no longer pretending to be tame,
Because he reminds me that lonely isn't my middle name.
We sit beside one another and pretend that nothings wrong,
We share our headphones and listen to our favourite song.
We know that what we do isn't lame,
And that lonely will never be my middle name.

I love the twist from lonely to lover. Interesting and well-though-out! School can really suck like that if there's no one to acknowledge you exist. Best of luck!
