Love to me is more than a word
It's a feeling so deep, nothing you've heard
To some one who has been left on the streets too much
I was surprised to hold some ones loving touch
A person who has so much more in his life
Was willing to hold me back when I'd grab for a knife
A man who watched me walk away over and over again
Who still continues to let me run back to him
A young girl that is shaking inside
Is where he learned my feelings reside
A young boy who holds my hand as I continue to cry
Has shown me that true love isn't something to walk by
Love so pure that it is as real as a gentle embrace
(It is not something for which you must chase)
Love is only real if you know that persons there to stay
No matter how many times you need to vanish or run away
To love is to be loved, even if for the first time
For some its a mountain they never get to climb
But to me it is the purest thing I've ever felt
It is the best cards, to me, that god has dealt
