Rain

rain
is the blood
  of the earth
    cascading
      as we slaughter

rain
is the tears
  of the earth
    crying
      as we destroy

rain
is the poison
  that we feed this earth
    choking
        as we murder her mercilessly
rain
transparent, it is not
  just the color of the world
    slowly dying and dying
     
rain
  is the tears
    of our children
      who will be forced
        to see the world come to and end

rain
  is the sight
    they will see
      as the earth
      crumbles black
          a leaf amidst autum

rain
  a taste
    of the coldness
      that will sweep over
        our children
          and our earth

rain
as it pitifully rots
  turning from diamond
    back into coal
    our hands grasp
      the thin brown layer
        and crumble it into the wind
          blowing away just like our children
            just like our earth
              just like rain
